My gratitude practice was born after one of the darkest periods of my life.
As they say, beautiful things often come from our most difficult moments. Walking around in my new home town and snapping photographs of all the beautiful things around me, was as much a therapy as sharing my feelings in my journal was. This practice gave birth to an illustrated memoir.
In this collection of short essays about all the things I am grateful for in my daily life, each illustrated with a color photograph, you will find a reflection of your own treasure trove of gratitude. It turns out, there is an endless list of things that you and I are lucky to have – even when we are going through a divorce, even when we are losing our home, even when a loved one passes on… If we can zoom out and come back to now, in this very moment, we will find at least one good thing. That is how we can continue living our life in spite of all the “bad stuff”.
